KIcking off

Post by Hondo » Sat Aug 18, 2018 7:27 am

So if you've just joined us...a big welcome to you :D
Please feel free to offer any suggestions in regard to the forum layout or any changes you might like to see.

There is a reasonable allowance for image file size which should make the old forum image thing a breeze.
I will be adding more as it goes along.

We now have the facility to Tag or Mention other members, which should be cool.
For example:
If I Tag @Glenn he should be receive a notification at the top of the board.

Yes I did :D
But you need to check the "email" option in the User Control Panel to receive an email notification as well.

Hey I just came over from Hondatwins, net. I'm HamHock there too. Might I suggest a breakdown of the index by the number of cylinders? Not sure if we're counting the CBX as vintage here but there were singles, twins, 4 baners and 6 pots. Might make navigation easier. Could also make the index more confusing possibly.

Yes, you might be right?
I couldn't quite decide on the best layout. I ended up going for capacity as you can see :D
So for instance, would you lump all the singles in together regardless of size, or would you further break it down into capacity?

I guess I don't see an elegant solution, just many sub forms. It gets more confusing with twins, should it be broken down by v twin - transverse v twin - parallel and then sohc and dohc? Capacity might be the best way lol.

One suggestion is to make the sections more clearly defined. Currently I’m confused if I should post a CB450 in the 250-450 section or the 450-550 section. Plus there are so many 350s out there they should have a section unto themselves.

True
I might try the idea of @HamHock ....
Split into cylinders, then capacity under those headings
